Osprey Tacos
There are several great taco shops in St. Augustine, but Osprey is hands down my favorite. It's a laid back, order at the counter taqueria on Anastasia Blvd, right next to Old Coast Ales, serving fresh, made to order street tacos with a St. Augustine twist.
The lineup runs from traditional to creative. You can keep it classic with carne asada or carnitas, or go local with their signature Saint Augustine taco, fried shrimp, pickled onion, cabbage, and house made sauces. The homemade chips, queso, and guac are worth getting too.
The tacos here are generous. My go to is the San Diego, steak, guac, and shoestring fries. And when you're in St. Augustine, why not order the taco with the same name, a fried shrimp taco with pickled onions and a pair of excellent sauces. Osprey also does vegetarian and vegan right, the Crispy Tofu and The Sprout are both fantastic. I'm not a vegetarian, but I wouldn't leave disappointed ordering either one. My wife and I both go with flour tortillas, though they have corn too if you prefer.
Seating is mostly outdoor and covered, casual and easygoing. Osprey shares a great partnership with Old Coast Ales next door, so you can grab a beer and actually enjoy your tacos over at the brewery. If you come at dinner be ready for a wait, which makes Old Coast the perfect place to post up while your food's being made. I love Old Coast too, you'll find it recommended on this site.
